Soungle

One of the coolest features of SMART Notebook and Promethean ActivStudio/Inspire is the ability to add multimedia. I see a lot of teachers add clips from places like United Steaming without much issue, but when it comes to just adding sounds I rarely see anyone using multimedia features. The main reason is the difficulty in finding good sound clips to use. Now thanks to Soungle.com that difficulity should be a thing of the past.
At Soungle you can search for audio clips of just about anything. It’s a very simple “Googlesque” search page. After you put the sound you are looking for into the search box you simplely press search and are presented with numerous sounds to choose from. You can listen to each sound and download as many as you want. The best part is that it’s free.
After you download the sounds you have to convert them to .mp3 so you can link them to images objects in either SMART Notebook using the Link command or in Promthean by using the Action command. You can find out how to do that using Audacity by visiting our tutorals course found here.
Thanks to Shayla Rexrode with SMART Technologies for the tip on this resource.
