GRITC Preview: Spotlight on Curriculum Resources
The Gulf Regional Instructional Technology Conference offers teachers and administrators sessions on a variety of topics. Many of these sessions will provide resources and strategies for specific curriculum areas.
Here’s an overview of some of the content specific sessions you can register for at GRITC:
Technology Resources for Teaching Social Studies
Over the past few years Baldwin County has amassed numerous electronic resources for Social Studies teachers. This session targets those resources available for middle and high school teachers. Participants will learn about these resources and how to use them help their students succeed. Presented by Joyce Woodburn.
AHSGE and ARMT Math Review Videos
As part of an effort to help students and teachers better prepare for the AHSGE, Gary Kubina and Liz Ray have created a series of math videos and other resources which can be used for both whole class and individual instruction. The videos correlate to the State Course of Study Standards and follow the AHSGE Item Specifications. In this session you will learn how to access the videos as well as how they can be used in your classroom for direct instruction or remediation. Presented by Gary Kubina.
Improving Reading and Writing Through the ActivClassroom: Any Grade Level, Any Subject
Learn how you can use the ActivClassroom to improve student learning in reading and writing, in any grade level and any subject area. Presented by Deanna Harrison.
Using Technology to Improve Writing
Motivation can be the key to improving writing in your classroom. Technology can often times provide the motivation that your students need to become better writers. In this session, you will learn how programs such as Moodle, Glogster, and Blogs can be utilized to increase your students’ opportunity to express themselves through their writing. Providing writing opportunities through the use of Web-based programs such as these will help your students to become the best writers they can be. Presented by Jeff Rhodus.
Elementary Science and Moodle
Are you a 5th grade science teacher that needs help with the state science assessment? Do you want to share and access materials through Moodle? Do you want to add FUN to your science review? Come to the 5th Grade Science Moodle Session. Presented by Renee Phelps.

GRITC is scheduled for July 26 and 27 at Robertsdale Elementary School. Teachers that attend both days will be paid a small stipend.
