We want to congratulate Miland for competing in our county spelling bee. It takes a lot of courage to compete at this level. Way to go Miland. We are proud of you!

I may have got there, but I lost on Mesopotamian. The winner was the state champion. It was kind of unfair.

Thanks for supporting me everyone. I’m sad that I lost, but I will try again next year. I especially want to thank Mr. Rhodus, Mrs. Runnels, and Ms. Lyles for the nice good luck card. Sadly, it looks like today wasn’t my lucky day. I think that it was because I left my lucky coin at home and I was #26 (3 numbers off my lucky number). My word was also probably the hardest word in the book (Mesopotamian). I don’t know how I spelled it wrong, but I lost and sometimes losing is good. It helps you learn from your mistakes.

Thank you, Miland, for making us proud of your achievement at reaching the County Spelling Bee. I enjoyed the evening seeing you on stage among the County’s best spellers. It is a memory I will long remember. Next year is another year; plan on giving it your best once again and see where it takes you!
