Welcome to all parents and students that will be with me for the 10/11 school year. Elsanor has had several changes during this past summer, and we are all very excited about getting started. In order to guarantee your child and all the other students in our classroom the excellent learning environment they deserve, I will utilize the following discipline plan for this school year:
Rules:
1. Be Respectful
* Respect other people and their belongings
* Keep hands and feet to yourself
* Help others
* Listen
* Use good manners
* Be a friend
2. Be Responsible
* Be prepared
* Take care of your things
* Finish all work on time
* Be punctual
* Work without disturbing others
* Keep your area clean
* Pay attention
3. Be Resourceful
* Be safe
* Make sure you have everything you need
* Stay on task
* Ask questions by raising your hand
* Listen carefully
* Do research
If a student chooses to break a rule:
* 1st: Verbal reminder about positive behavior
* 2nd: Verbal warning, possible note to parents
* 3rd: Parent is called and an action plan is discussed
* 4th: Parent/Teacher/Student Conference
* 5th: Office Discipline Referral
SEVERE CLAUSE: A severe disruption or act such as fighting or disrespect to a teacher will earn an immediate Office Discipline Referral and parent notification.
Rewards For Positive Behavior:
* Praise (Daily)
* Positive notes home (Random)
* Whole Class special activity or free time (Weekly)
* Various other positive perks (throughout the school year)
* The joy of learning (each day of the school year)
