Welcome BCBE Kindergarten teachers!  This is our site to collaborate, share and post resources.  It will only be as good as WE make it.  Please forward any resources you would like to see uploaded to sgriffiths@bcbe.org.

I have uploaded files to 5.5 thru 6.2 Reading and 11-1 to 11-8 Math.  You will need a password to get to the Smartfiles.  I will send this password via email.  Check them out and please post comments to this post.  IT Services has been good enough to allow us this space and the time to set it up for us.  Let’s show our appreciation by utilizing it to the best we can!

There are over 120 Kindergarten teachers in Baldwin County.  We are all teaching to the same standards from the same textbooks.  Think of all the resources spread across the county.  A teacher’s time is so limited and in so much demand.  Let’s work smarter and share the work.  Think of the kindergarten program we can create across OUR county!

The site looks great, Shelley! I am sure this will be a VERY USEFUL TOOL for all K teachers in the county and that it will also benefit teachers from other counties. What do you think about including a link to the Kindergarten Kove website from Shelby County Schools in Tennessee? The site is http://www.scsk12.org/SCS/subject-areas/Kindergarten-Kove/Welcome.html. Thanks again, Shelly, for getting this site up and going for us! :)

I spent yesterday afternoon looking at the site. It looks great. It does take a while for the reading lessons to load because of the number of pages but that can easily be handled by reading a story or doing a finger poem as it loads. I like how Shelly has added DIBELS practice at the end of each lesson. I would be interested in seeing some of the DIBELS materials changed out so the students have opportunities to practice unfamiliar material.
Overall – way to go Shelly!

You can download the smartfile ahead of time and save to your computer or thumbdrive. The smartfiles take a lot of memory so that is why they take so long to download. I would just make a file on my desktop, name it the unit and week like 6-3 and download ALL the smartfiles and resources to that one file. If you need any help with this let me know.

I am so excited about this site! I plan to add some resources this summer…once the excitement of the end of the year settles down. I will also be adding my promethean flipcharts to my moodle course and will be glad to share those too!

      Shelly,
Thanks so much for sharing all your files. I can’t wait to get started this year with all the new resources. Your lesson plan formats are going to go right into my plan book. Your district is so lucky to have someone to do all of this for them. I look forward to downloading the rest of the reading plans when they are available. Thanks again!
