One of Mrs. Roberson’s favorite childhood memories at Christmas is playing with her snowman that sings Christmas songs. What is one of your holiday memories?

We have done two experiments with balancing.  In each experiment there was a fulcrum, beam, and weight. Explain what you learned about placing the fulcrum and the weight.

We enjoyed a Thanksgiving feast that was very different.  Each student brought in a canned food item.  We put each item in the crock pot with a magic “Stone” and let it brewit was Delicious!  We also visited the 6th grade students and used our Thanksgiving retell bracelets to share thestory of the first thanksgiving.   

Veteran’s Day is November 11th. What is Veteran’s Day? Why is it so important to celebrate?

Fire Safety month is September: Gulf Shores Firefighters visited our school last Friday. They taught us so much abou fire safety. What are some things you learned about Fire safety?

This week has been full of different red ribbon activites. Wild hat day, crazy sock day, drug free carnival, team spirit day, and so much more! What have you learned about  what drugs can do to your mind and body?

I applied for a grant with Baldwin EMC. The grant will allow each student to recieve a math box to use at home. The Math box will include some of the same activites as the math bag, BUT MORE STUFF! I am so excited and can’t wait to get the math manipulatives purchased.

This week the dairy truck visited our school. What did you learn about where milk comes from?

COMPOST BAGS! WORMS, WORMS!

Our first AMSTI science kit this year is Soil. We have learned about 3 different types of soil: Clay, Sand, and Humus. We have been experimenting with dry and wet soil. We have learned that the soils do change when wet. We have also learned that worms are important for the soil and that they help break down orangic materials.
