COMPOST BAGS! WORMS, WORMS!

Our first AMSTI science kit this year is Soil. We have learned about 3 different types of soil: Clay, Sand, and Humus. We have been experimenting with dry and wet soil. We have learned that the soils do change when wet. We have also learned that worms are important for the soil and that they help break down orangic materials.

Our Planet project was a success. We worked in groups to reserach our planets. Then we created a PowerPoint slide for our assigned planet. We had a blast! Look at how engaged the students were!

Math Workshop has begun! We had our first math workshop today. We are learning how to use our math tools properly. Our first math workshop assignment was “Cover and Count” and “Building Cube Things”.

The First Day of School at Roberson Island was fabulous! I can’t wait to learn more about my students. Here is somthing that I shared with them today. They learned that Mrs.Roberson also went to GSES in 1990.

Roberson Island is almost ready for students

School will be starting on August 15th and I am so excited. I  cannot wait to meet each of my students. Please remember that Meet the Teacher will be on August 11th from 1:00-6:00 at Gulf Shores Elementary.
