Do you have a favorite place or subject in school? Oh boy I do!!! My favorite place in school is Project Jubilee!! Mostly because of the fun, artistic, and challenging things we do. In Project Jubilee we learn about challenging things such as Math center or think 1 ,but we are on think 3 its not the easiest thing to do it is very challenging . For the artistic things we do we are painting these art scenes of the beach and the sunset with water color paint. A fun thing we do is we play chess and we do Temari. We also do kumihimo. I love all of the things we do in Project Jubilee. I also love my wonderful teacher Mrs. Heald. She is always saying “she will bend over backwards for us” But we have to ask for help to get the help that she is offering. She is always offering her help, and I really appreciate that!!!!! Those are just some of the awesome things we do in my favorite place in school!!!

Every week on Wednesday and Thursday I come to the most fun place in the world! In Project Jubilee we are learning about Australia and also about Medieval Times. We have been working on our Medieval Livebinder for the past three weeks it’s actually very fun! I have two topics for the Medieval Livebinder my first one is Geoffrey Chaucer my second one is the Bayeux Tapestry. We haven’t exactly started on our Australian Livebinder yet, but my topic for that is Art. I haven’t exactly figured out what I’m going to do for my topic, but I’m pretty sure I’m going to do an artist from Australia, or someone who does art in Australia. We are also learning about think one math where we learn about different things to do with math. Here are some examples of what kinds of things we learn are area, perimeter, and just plain old strategy. I love Project Jubilee I love that I get to come every week! Now let’s talk about my teacher Mrs. Heald. Mrs. Heald is awesome and she helps us when we need it as she says “I will bend over backwards for yall, but you have to put forth effort.” She makes things easy for us to understand. Now back to the Australian topic that I was talking about earlier we are talking about in class like we are talking about the aborigines and their art so we are talking about their culture and also about their history, and that is just a liitle of what we do in Project Jubille it is very fun!!!!

Hi, I’m Kara and in Project Jubilee last week we worked on our coat of arms. We only have a few more people that are finishing. We also did chess with notations. We learned how many points each piece meant except the king, which is priceless. We have received all the information for the BIG Project Jubilee field trip to Atlanta, Georgia. My friends and I are so excite for this field trip. We also need old t-shirts donated for an art project we are doing with the loom to make a rug for the classroom. Project Jubilee is fun.

Hey! This is Kirsten, and I’m going to tell you what we did in Project Jubilee last week. We started painting the patterns on our fish that we made out of empty soda bottles. We also saw a really cool anamorphic optical illusion with candles. It looked like a cube, but when you looked at it at a certain angle you could see that it was all just on the ground. We started on our wiki, and talked about our famous jazz artists. Mine is Stan Getz. He played the saxophone. He got his first one from his dad. That’s my blog!!!

Project Jubilee has been way awesome! I am in the Wednsday and Thursday classes. We are learning about jazz and all the students got assigned a jazz musician, mine was Cab Calloway. The class is going to make a slideshow with our information of the jazz musician. We also have been learning alot about art,Like the principles and elements.we have been getting alot into Dale Chihuly the glass artist. He does crazy things with glass. He makse it swirly and spikey. All his art work stands out from the rest sometimes literally. Our class all started on these fish made out of 2 liter bottles. We haven’t gotten very far though. One of the other things we are doing is optical illusions. Some things we have done is a wavy hand made out of a million lines. It gives the impression that a hand is in all those lines. Another thing we did in optical illusions was floating bars. It is long widening bars coming from a certain view point on a paper. The bars are coloured too. There is also a field trip coming up to the Dolphin Island Sea Lab. I am really excited!

We have also been learning about jazz music and musicians. For homework we have to research a famous musician. I got Nina Simon. This project is really fun and I really look forward to doing more !

Hey yall it’s Paige. I’m so glad we’re back in P.J! I’m in Wednesday and Thursday group (with a bunch of weirdoes mostly the boys)! So anyways the first time we came to P.J we did a little ART with Mrs. Nancy. We painted crabs for the hurricane in Tuscaloosa. We saw this video about it, it was so sad. We painted on tar paper. We drew with chalk then painted. Mrs. Nancy then took them to a car place so peoples could bid on them. At the end we raised a lot of money.

Hi! I’m Abby. In Project Jubilee we’re learning about optical illusions and a famouse artist named Dale Chihuly. He creates huge glass images, and even blows glass bubles! His history has been going on for ages and is still going on this very day.

This week in Project Jubilee we are learning about brain teasers. So far everyone likes them. My favorites have been M1llion and Doctor, Doctor. The answers were one in a million and paradox. Funny right? We are also learning about optical illusions. We have done a hand illusion and flying bars illusion. They’re very interesting, and they also really help you think! Last week we were assigned Jazz musicians for a project. We needed to answer certain questions like who, what, when, where, and how. My Jazz group was the Inkspots. There very interesting. Do you want here about them? Well, your going to have to read to find out! We also learned about glass blowing from the artist Dale Chihuly. You can literally find his artwork anywhere! He has it outside in parks, inside museums, even in hotels like the Bellagio in Las Vegas! He has retired from creating now because of his seeing disability, but he is still extremely involved in glass work. His pieces can go for over 5,000 dollars. Very expensive, but his pieces are beautiful and a sight to see! Also a few weeks ago a woman named Nancy Raia came to W.J.C. and did art work for an auction show at a car dealership for Tuscaloosa. We did that because of the terrible tornadoe. There were very sad pictures, but I’m just happy we raised so much money. That is some of the amazing things we do in Project Jubilee.
This is Alyssa signing off!
Bye!
